The Gents go back to covering big monsters and take on the 1976 version of King Kong, starring Jeff Bridges, Charles Grodin, the lovely Jessica Lange, and a guy in an ape suit. The mechanical ape was only in the movie about 15 seconds.
The League travels back to a different time to take on the Mike Nesmith produced, 80’s classic Tapeheads. Musician cameos, videos, and maybe Menudo. This one had it all.
As a “pod”-cast, we obviously had to tackle the seminal Pod People movie: the 1978 Invasion of the Body-Snatchers. Just don’t fall asleep while listening to it!
The Gents follow up Die Hard with another John McTiernan classic: Arnold Schwarzeneggar’s Last Action Hero. Plus, how Arny handles a tough gym session.
If you need a pip of a podcast during your Thanksgiving travels, consider the League’s latest episode on Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell’s classic His Girl Friday. We get the slop on the movie, and some funny commentary to boot. And if you don’t like it, well, we got two words for you: Get Out!
The League start another new endeavor with our Talking Turkeys series, just in time for Thanksgiving! And we start off with a great bad movie: Robocop III. A different guy in the suit, but still a big, ol’, heaping, wet, sloppy, drippy helping of Frank Miller.
The League returns for Part 2 of our The Invisible Man Do-Over, where we compare and contrast the 1933 and 2020 films; basically one is goofy and the other is horror (for idiots.)
The League combines our traditional Halloween episode with a Do-Over as we tackle the 1933 classic The Invisible Man. We also tactfully tackle the subtlties of him walking around naked, and what happens to the food he eats while it digests. It’s very high-brow, so take a listen!
In our latest Bounding Through Bond episode, we cover You Only Live Twice, which has some culturally inappropriate scenes, but is somehow still a fun romp. Plus, ninjas. ▶️ Play/Download Here
The Gents take a deep dive many “leagues” under the sea as we look through our periscopes at the Burt Lancaster/Clack Gable classic Run Silent, Run Deep. Since we’ve run out of puns, maybe just listen to the episode.
Look Up! Get ready to soar with the League Podcast as Matt Dursin and Kal N. Ferno dive into James Gunn's latest blockbuster, 'Superman.' The dynamic duo provides a light-spoiler-filled review of the new movie! SuperMAN is Good Movie!
Three musketeers with microphones take on The Three Musketeers of moviedom as we duel and wench our way through the 1993 Disney version. Feather your mullets and give it a listen!
The League put on their best (?) Christopher Walken impressions and continue Rogering through Roger for the 40th anniversary of his final turn in the tux, A View to a Kill. It’s an amusing episode… to a kill.
The League peers into Hitchcock’s genius once again with a deep dive into the 1954 thriller Rear Window. You don’t even need a zoom lens to take it all in.
The League tackles a movie that we all went to see together at the Coolidge Corner Theater: Alfred Hitchcock’s Notorious. It was a perfectly hideous party!
The Gents tackle the Paul Newman/Robert Redford classic The Sting. Give it a listen and let us know what you think, but we may be late because we’re taking a crap.
Join Matt Dursin and newly minted standup comedian Clay N. Ferno for a special edition of The League celebrating the ghosts of Free Comic Book Day past and discussing the downfall and bankruptcy of Diamond!
The Gents return for The Return of Godzilla! We finish off the King of the Monsters 70th birthday with one of his all-time classics, and we don’t even call him a “hillbilly.”
